CMS has provided an updated SNF QRP Public Reporting Tip Sheet.
The SNF QRP was established under the Improving Medicare Post-Acute Care Transformation Act of 2014, which requires the Secretary to publicly report quality measures related to the care provided by SNFs across the country. Data is derived from the Minimum Data Set (MDS), and Medicare fee-for-service claims.
Due to COVID, CMS provided temporary relief for providers on the requirements for public reporting of their Quality Measures, resulting in a freeze of Quality Measure data on Care Compare. After the October 2020 refresh, CMS held the October data constant until January 2022. Data will return to normal with the April 2022 refresh of the SNF Care Compare site.
Please find CMS’ update in Figure 2 below.
Let’s Get to the Point:
The public once again has access to our quality measures. It is critical to put systems in place to ensure data is accurately reported, updated as needed, reviewed and corrected prior to public release.
