On January 14th, Xavier Becerra, Secretary of Health and Human Services signed an extension of the Public Health Emergency (PHE). The new expiration date for the COVID-19 PHE is April 16, 2022. Tied to this extension are several waivers, including the 3-day hospital stay (1135) and telehealth, which are now being widely used. These extensions are issued in 90-day increments with a commitment to a 60-day notification prior to the end of the PHE. Please find a link to the hhs.gov document included below:
