How we Came to BEE

Our Origin Story

The year was 2017 at a bustling airport and two busy travelers just happened to meet when seated next to each other on their flight headed to Dallas, Texas. After a quick exchange of pleasantries, they quickly realized the commonalities in their values as well as their pursuit to provide a new and improved rehab management solution for the Long-Term Care industry. It was this chance encounter of now QRM cofounder and president, Herman Friedman, and CEO, Freda Mowad, which launched their successful partnership and company now servicing hundreds of skilled nursing facilities across the nation. QRM formed on a connection, and to this day, that remains the pinnacle of the operation. Presently, we continue to move forward with humility, an innovative mindset and vigilance all while empowering one another to achieve greatness.

Freda Mowad

Chief Executive Officer

Freda has over 20 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist and executive leader. Freda began in long term care as a treating SLP focused on dysphagia management and cognitive rehabilitation. In 2009 Freda became the Vice President of Operations at one of the largest contract rehab companies in Texas and from 2015 to 2018 she headed as President, growing the company to over 160 locations.

Freda has established a reputation for achieving stellar clinical and financial outcomes in a highly conscientious manner and has a finesse for building incredible teams of talent. Freda is highly skilled at navigating swiftly and effectively through the everchanging healthcare environment which is evident by her loyal client base and growth.

Susan Krall

Chief Strategy Officer

Susan Krall is a Physical Therapist with over 30 years of multi-state Post-Acute rehab management experience. Her client base includes privately owned and nationwide for-profit and not-for-profit skilled nursing facilities, CCRC campuses, home health and out-patient agencies.

Currently Susan’s primary focus is on partnering with clients to identify and implement strategies which drive enhanced outcomes and patient satisfaction in today’s value driven / person centered reimbursement and regulatory environment.

As a member of AHCA, Leading Age, ACHCA, NASL, NPA and AANAC, Susan is committed to continual learning and collaborative strategic initiatives in an effort to facilitate and support successful navigation through ever changing and demanding times.

L.D. Ivy

Chief Financial Officer

L.D. is a skilled financial expert with over 25 years of strategic planning experience in the healthcare industry. Prior to QRM, L.D. served in various financial management roles with both public and private long-term care companies.

L.D. specializes in operational finance, financial planning & analysis, budgeting, forecasting, mergers & acquisitions. L.D. has executive responsibility for QRM’s financial operations and provides insight for new business development and innovative strategies.

Ashley Duggan is an experienced RAC-CTA occupational therapist by profession. She has extensively developed her expertise in all aspects of the medical review process including:

  • Organizational efficiencies
  • Clinical review
  • Education/training
  • Reimbursement maximization
  • Audit management across review entities (e.g., MAC TPE, RAC, UPIC, OIG, SMRC, managed care, risk adjustment and other identified needs)
