Friday, October 15, the US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary, Xavier Becerra, renewed the Public Health Emergency through January 16, 2022. Extensions are limited to 90 days at a time with a required 60-day notification prior to ending.
Renewal of Determination That A Public Health Emergency Exists
This extension allows the continuation of several impactful regulatory waivers including Telehealth, Medicaid funding enhancements, and the 3-day hospitalization waiver, to name a few, which are critical to ensuring access to care during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
