Blog: A View from Washington – Telehealth Extension and More

The following is a summary of key topics discussed at ADVION’s 2025 Legislative & Regulatory Conference held last week in Washington, DC.

At the center of every conversation was an appreciation for the extension of Telehealth. While the government’s Continuing Resolution (CR) included a few healthcare policies, the Telehealth extension was especially significant to the skilled nursing sector and its ability to ensure ongoing access to care.

Telehealth Extension: The Medicare Telehealth flexibilities available since the pandemic that were set to expire at the end of March have been extended through September 30, 2025.

The push for permanent Telehealth access will remain an ongoing priority, making continued advocacy critical in ensuring legislation is presented with the “Telehealth Modernization Act” bill at every opportunity.

Additional legislative topics dominated the sessions:

  • Managed Care reform
  • Permanent Telehealth resolution
  • Part B fee schedule relief
  • Staffing mandate appeal
  • Medicaid protection
  • Workforce shortages
  • Tech solutions

The Point Is: As expressed by a Congressional panel last week: “Congress has fallen short on providing payment relief for our industry.” Issues affecting healthcare providers are top of mind, marking this as a critical time to voice our priorities to legislators.

QRM will continue to provide updates.
