Once again, advocacy efforts have paid off as the final Government Funding Bill was signed into law (HR 7148) on February 3, 2026. This includes a two-year extension of telehealth through December 31, 2027.
Additional details impacting rehab include:
- No geographic restrictions on telehealth
- PT, OT and ST may continue furnishing Medicare-covered telehealth services
- One-year extension of the 1.0 Work GPCI floor ensuring Medicare Part B payments will not be adjusted using a work cost index lower than 1.0 in any geographic area
The government is now funded through September 30, 2026.
