CMS has announced the transition of MDS submissions and reporting to iQIES (Internet Quality Improvement and Evaluation System) will take place on April 17th, 2023. This update is intended to be shared with Administrators, MDS and Clinical Reimbursement team members to ensure awareness of this transition date and next steps.
CMS Announces iQIES Transition Date
When: Monday, April 17th, 2023
What’s happening: MDS assessment submission and reporting (CASPER reports, etc.) will transition from QIES to iQIES
What you need to know:
- QIES ASAP system will be turned off at 8pm EST on April 13th to prepare for the transition. Providers should submit completed MDS records to QIES prior to 8pm EST on April 13th or wait until 8am EST on April 17th and submit data in iQIES.
- One staff member must be assigned and approved as the facility PSO (Provider Security Official) prior to April 17th. Failure to obtain access to iQIES prior to this date will impact your ability to submit MDS records. The PSO must work for the provider and will be responsible for approving all other users for their facility.
