The Director of Therapy Operations will lead and build our therapy service line across senior living communities including AL/IL/MC. This position will oversee the client’s Directors of Rehab and with the goal of quality care, compliance, fiscal success, and implementation of new initiatives for the purpose of client satisfaction and retention. This position will require scaling a department from the ground up—laying the foundation, designing innovative therapy models and eventually will lead a team of Regional Managers as we grow.

Key Objectives

• Lead and develop high-performing rehab clinics, providing mentorship, guidance, and support for their professional growth

• Design, implement and refine therapy programs tailored to AL/IL/MC settings

• Participate in the pre-go-live phase of new contracts and provide onsite support for transitions per the Master Implementation Process Guide

• Schedule, prepare and actively participate in site visits with the determined frequency determined by supervisor

• Successfully develop and distribute accurate and valuable content in monthly client reports by the 15th of each month

• Develop and present Quarterly Business Reviews in collaboration with DVP/SVP with accurate and relevant content to ensure successful continuation of partnership per the QBR process

• Meet or exceed pre-established client and QRM’s expectations for performance

• Thoroughly prepare monthly BK meeting to review with supervisor following BK process

• Actively participate in weekly calls and demonstrate competency of training material and implementation of directives

• Responsible for relaying information to the field via email, weekly calls, 1:1s, etc

• Communicate relevant information from the field to supervisor within 24 hours or as urgency dictates

• Schedule and lead weekly meetings with clinics to provide feedback, establish goals and initiatives, and verify follow-through of prior discussions

• Develop, maintain, and support effective DORs to ensure client and QRM success in all key performance indicators and maintain QRM’s retention goal

• Acknowledge receipt and provide a follow-up response to relevant client email requests by the end of the business day

• Collaborate with corporate team and BD to manage client accounts to meet or exceed QRM’s retention Goal

• Serve as a key representative in business development efforts, participating in client-facing meetings and presentations.

• Assist client with evaluation and assessment of DOR performance on a routine basis and independently determine measurable course of action for under-performing areas

• 5+ years PT, OT, ST in direct bill/outpatient preferred

• 2+ years management of DORs in direct bill/outpatient setting, multi-site preferred

• 2+ years management of Regional Managers preferred

• Proficiency in federal and state reimbursement and regulatory guidelines

• Independent and self-motivated

• Adaptable, resilient and comfortable navigating ambiguity during start-up and growth phases

• Innovative and detail-oriented professional with strong analytical and organizational skills

Must be a licensed clinician with multi-site management experience, background in operations and with clinical expertise; must be Physical Therapist/Assistant, Occupational Therapist (Assistant), or Speech-Language Pathologist/CCC, and reside near Dallas/Ft. This position provides extensive training, analysis, advice and consultation to the facilities and teams within his/her area of responsibility in the Texas Region. Monitors, consults, and makes effective recommendations for changes and modifications to existing facility processes, systems, policies, and practices which will assure efficient, effective and compliant rehab oversight and payment performance.

Regional Therapy Director Job Functions include, but are not limited to:

  • In-depth knowledge of reimbursement methodologies for therapy, specifically PDPM
  • Provides consultation, training and support for assigned area
  • Analyzes systems and processes to ensure compliance that federal and state regulations as well as company policies and procedures are followed
  • Works in conjunction with teams to resolve issues, endorse changes and conduct follow-ups to establish that recommendations are effectively implemented and monitored for appropriateness.
  • Promotes compliance by performing periodic audits of assessments, supporting documentation, and other relevant data.
  • Recognizes, advises and promotes facility best practices and systems
  • Prior experience working with Medicare rules, regulations, billing codes
  • Understanding of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations
  • Strong ability to communicate with others; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Therapist with completion of degree in from accredited program and licensed in the state of employment
  • Three to five years of clinical experience in a long-term care setting, which includes supervisory, administrative or consultative capacities
  • MUST HAVE prior multi-site SNF management with a background in clinical processes. training and mentoring
  • Current knowledge of computer technology and systems
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance, yet successfully collaborate with teams internally and externally
  • Extensive knowledge of PDPM, Medicare reimbursement, compliance and eligibility
  • Experience with Rehab Optima or Net Health documentation systems
